Fostering global convergence-type talent who read culture, communicate with the world, and plan the future. Based on in-depth research on global culture including Korean language and culture, the Department of Global Culture and Communication cultivates global professional talent who will lead the convergence development of language, culture, media, and content industries. The department contributes to producing not only cultural content experts with intercultural understanding and practical communication skills but also Korean language education experts who will spread Korean language and culture worldwide.
Career Prospect
- After graduation, students can advance into various fields within the cultural content industry, a future growth sector. Career paths include cultural content planners, cultural content creators, writers for traditional and digital media, story consultants, cultural critics, researchers, practitioners in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international cultural exchange, corporate cultural marketing experts, government cultural/administrative officers, intercultural experts, multicultural activists, and professionals in cultural industry companies and content platforms.
- Professionals can also lead the global expansion of K-culture by entering the K-content industry. Career paths are available in national institutions related to K-culture (such as the Presidential Council on Nation Branding, Korea Creative Content Agency, and Academy of Korean Studies), Hallyu-related companies, the public diplomacy sector, and as specialists in Korean language education and Korean language and culture.
